The pre-requsites of a successful tympanoplasty are:
(a) A dry ear
(b) Good cochlear reserve on PTA BC 30 dB or better
(c) Patent and fuctional ET
(d) Assess the functional state of the ossicular chain and individual ossicles and functional state of labyrinthine windows.
(e) No secondary pathology in nose, PNS and throat.
